The Palm Beach Atlantic University Dance Ensemble’s Garden Series brings the arts outdoors and intolocal public garden. The historic Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens. Concert shares a program of professional and student choreographed pieces with very different backdrops. At the Ann Norton SculptureGardens, dancers will perform in various parts of the garden among monumental sculptures. Works include Waiting on the World, choreographed by Jin-Young Lee; Bruch’s Violin Concerto dance, choreographed by Eileen Hebron; a duet with Chiara Casiraghi and Gabriel Speiller, choreographed by Victor Trevino; and a quartet choreographed by Samantha Pardes. The dance ensemble is directed by Dr. Kathleen Klein, chair of Palm Beach Atlantic University’s dance department. For 30 years, she served asthe executive director of Klein Dance, Inc., which operated a renowned school for dance and the Klein Dance Company in Lake Worth. Previously, she served at the School of Hartford Ballet in Connecticut while attending a rigorous teacher training program and dancing a demanding performance schedule.Dr. Klein has an extensive background in dance technique, pointe and partnering, ballet theory, kinesiology, dance history, music theory and most important for her students, child psychology and pedagogy. A national authority on dance education, she recently authored a monograph on dance and published a book on career readiness for dancers. Dr. Klein completed her doctorate in global leadership atLynn University and is a member of Americans for the Arts, the American Association of University Women, the Florida Dance Association, Florida Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and the Palm Beach County Cultural Council.
