WEST PALM BEACH — The Catherine T. MacArthur School of Leadership at Palm Beach Atlantic Universityand the Palm Beach Atlantic University Alumni Association present “Leading for Ethical Transformation,” a lecture by author and scholar Dr. Craig Johnson, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in the DeSantis Family Chapel, 300 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach. The event is free and open to the public. In his presentation, Dr. Johnson will address the role of leadership and ethics officers in transforming organizations that have fallen into unethical practices. He will share case studies of organizations that have weathered ethics scandals and have since transformed themselves into new,positive ethical cultures. The role of leadership in the turnaround process will be explored Dr. Johnson is professor of leadership studies and director of the doctor of business administration program at George Fox University in Newberg, Ore. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in leadership, ethics and management. Dr. Johnson is the author of Meeting the Ethical Challenges of Leadershipa key text used in the Organizational Management degree program at Palm Beach Atlantic University.He is also the author of Ethics in the Workplace: Tools and Tactics for Organizational Transformation and co-author, with Michael Z. Hackman, of Leadership: A Communication Perspective. His research findings, instructional ideas and book reviews have been published in the Journal of Leadership Studies, Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, Journal of Leadership Education, Academy of Management Learning and Education, International Leadership Journal, Communication Quarterly, Communication Reports and other journals. Dr. Johnson has led and participated in service and educational trips to Kenya, Rwanda, New Zealand, China, Brazil and Honduras. He also has served in volunteer leadership roles in a variety of nonprofit organizations. He holds a doctorate degree from the University of Denver. Established in 1989, Catherine T. MacArthur School of Leadership serves nearly 500 adult, non-traditional students. Presently, the school offers the Bachelor of Science in OrganizationalManagement and Master of Science in Leadership degree programs in West Palm Beach, Orlando and Wellington. In addition, the Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management is offered online. The school has 12 full-time and 77 part-time faculty members, and more than 2,800 alumni.
