"SCULPTURE TOUR at the NORTON" (in French), Saturday Nov 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. A French conversation lunch will follow in the Museum's Cafe 1451 for those visitors who wish to stay on and practice their French. The tour will take us through a variety of newly decorated and reinstalled galleries to meet beautifully crafted mythological gods and goddesses, busts of emperors and noblewomen in bronze, marble, stone and terra cotta from the Renaissance and Baroque Periods. By way of China (Head of a Colossal Buddha, Tang Dynasty) we will visit abstract and contemporary sculptures of the modern era like Brancusi - Degas - Picasso - Lehmbruck - Cave - Beuys - Manship - Shapiro and Sheeler.
