Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach Cost: Free Contact: Event Organizer Jennifer Farroll at jennifer_farroll@pba.edu or 561- 803-2338 WEST PALM BEACH—Palm Beach Atlantic University’s athletic teams will host the first-ever "Sailfish Sunday" community engagement event 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 4 at the campus’ Greene Complex for Sports and Recreation,1100 S. Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach. This carnival-style event is free and open to the public and will have PBA student-athletes, coaches, and staff members interacting with children from the area in games, prizes, a talent show, and other fun activities throughout the event. Inflatable games as well as traditional carnival-style activities including a photo-booth with the PBA cheerleading squad will be available for children and their families to participate in. Being a member of the NCAA Division II, Palm Beach Atlantic strives to be an active member in terms of community engagement but for PBA Athletic Director Bob White and his staff, it’s more than just fulfilling a membership expectation. "We really want our staff and student-athletes to use thisevent as a visible act of our Christ-like love for this community as we play and interact with the children who come out," said White. "While we strive to produce winning sports programs, we alsol ook to being a Sailfish as a ministry opportunity and you never know what type of impact you can have on a child's life by simply showing God's love to them," continued White. All 11 PBA varsity sports teams as well as the PBA Cheerleading team will be on hand as the organizers and leaders ofeach game and activity that will take place. The evening will conclude with a special presentation called "PBA's Got Talent," which will feature representation from each team in a talent show for the children to watch and enjoy.
