Palm Beach Atlantic University will present “Science Days at PBA,” a science summer camp for children in kindergarten through fifth grades, at the University’s main campus from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. theweek of June 6-10 with extended care available until 5:30 p.m. The cost per child is $250; $180 forthe second child, which will include lunch, snacks and T-shirt. Dr. Keysha Bryant, assistant professor of pharmacy practice, is director of Science Days at PBA, working with PBA science and pharmacy faculty from various disciplines. Each day will have a different scientific focus such as: environmental science, pharmacy/compounding, chemistry/medical chemistry and physics. This year’s campwill feature a health education component through PBA’s School of Nursing, Dr. Bryant said. Also, students will have an opportunity to experiment with compounding with Dr. Adwoa Nornoo, a formulationscientist with PBA’s Gregory School of Pharmacy, she said. The camp again will focus on the scientific method, Dr. Bryant said. “We look forward to another exciting camp,” Dr. Bryant said. Science activities will be hands-on and interactive.
