The Alumni Association of Palm Beach Atlantic University has set its 23rd annual golf tournament andauction for Saturday, October 2, at the PGA National Resort & Spa. The tournament, which is open tothe public, raises money for the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. This year’s tournament will be hosted by baseball Hall of Famer and PBA baseball coach Gary Carter and includes a helicopter balldrop. The fun begins at 7 a.m. with breakfast followed by a helicopter ball drop at 8:15 a.m. Ashotgun start at 8:30 a.m. begins the tournament where golfers will compete on the Haig and Palmercourses. In addition to an enjoyable round of golf, participants will compete for prizes for the closest-to-the-pin, longest drive and more. Arrigo Dodge ∙ Chrysler ∙ Jeep of Palm Beach provides par 3 hole-in-one prizes. After golf, players will enjoy lunch and an exciting auction, featuring an array of sports memorabilia and weekend resort packages. The cost for the tournament is $250 per player, which includes cart, greens fee, breakfast, lunch and a tournament golf shirt. For more than 20 years proceeds from the tournament have helped deserving PBA students pay for their college education. The Alumni Association recently awarded 29 annual scholarships, which are renewable by undergraduates who remain in good standing at the University.
