Premiering in 1962, Ionesco’s absurdist drama “Exit the King” examines life and death through the unusual ways that ancient King Berenger deals with his own mortality. The Economist magazine described this comic satire by absurdist playwright Eugene Ionesco as a “forgotten gem.” Of the recent Broadway revival starring Geoffrey Rush and Academy Award Winner Susan Sarandon, Alison Croggon of Theatre Notes writes, “The last ten minutes or so of this production is, quite simply, astounding theatre, the kind that makes you hold your breath. . .” This performance is directed by Rob Homer-Drummond, professor of Theatre at Palm Beach Atlantic. Homer-Drummond earned his bachelor of communications from Wheaton College and his master of fine arts in acting from the University of Louisville. Hehas studied Lecoq movement technique, Linklater voice technique, and participated in workshop studies with Actors Theatre of Louisville.
