The American Shark Conservancy’s Hanna Medd returns to continue the discussion about the importance of sharks to Florida’s fragile coastal ecosystem. The Conservancy is conducting a long term monitoring project along the coast of Florida to determine the habitat use of local shark species. It is important to know what sharks spend time together and where they swim so that we can enact proper management of the federal and state fisheries that target them.
Hannah is the founder of the American Shark Conservancy and a marine biologist. She has more than 10 years’ experience conducting applied research and conservation outreach for global and local shark and ray initiatives.
