A SHRINK-A-Thon is like a “walk-a-thon”, but instead of "walking", participants shed excess pounds for charity. Instead of raising pledges for every kilometer we walk, we will be sponsored for every pound or inch we lose! We all know many worthy causes in need of financial support. Also, many of us recognize the need to shed a few pounds, gain a little more energy, or just generally get healthier. The SHRINK-A-Thon combines these two needs, and thus creates a powerful win-win situation (or more like a "lose"-win). Group support will be the key as we all work together toward the same goal ofa healthier lifestyle and have fun in the process while raising money for charity. Everyone benefits! We will be learning about science-based techniques based on Dr. Strand’s Healthy for Life program. Clinical trials done under the guidelines of the FDA found that participants can expect to shrinktheir waistlines and gain more energy. Furthermore, these clinical trials found that participants also had improved blood sugar, insulin sensitivity, triglycerides, cholesterol, and blood pressure. All teams will be led by certified Dr. Strand coaches.
