The concert will feature lively instrumental arrangements of famous opera arias and scenes, including Brindisi from “La Traviata,” Danse Bacchanale from “Samson and Delilah,” Vilia from “Merry Widow,” suites from “La Boheme and Carmen,” Ponchielli’s “Dance of the Hours,” Wagner’s “Ride of the Walkuries” and the memorable overture from Verdi’s “Nabucco.” The PBA Symphonic Band will be joined by guest euphonium/baritone soloist Fred Dart with arrangements of “Nessun Dorma,” an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera “Turandot,” and the riveting “Largo al factotum” from the comic opera “Barber of Seville,” by Gioacchino Rossini. The evening will conclude with the Symphonic Band accompanying PBA’s Opera Workshop soloists to perform the finale to Act II of “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss.
