Status: Full-Time, Exempt


Location: West Jupiter Community Group, Inc/ dba Edna W. Runner Education Center,
Jupiter, FL
 
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Director of Development to lead our donor relations and development efforts. This key leadership position is responsible for designing and leading a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the mission of the Edna W. Runner Education Center. This role focuses on cultivating donor relationships, identifying and writing grants, managing stewardship activities, and working closely with the Executive Director and Board to create and implement strategies that ensure the organization's financial sustainability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
 
?? Fundraising & Grants

  • Identify, write, and manage local, state, and national grant proposals and reporting
  • Maintain a grant calendar and ensure timely submissions and compliance
 
?? Donor Relations & Stewardship
  • Cultivate, originate and manage relationships with current and prospective donors (individuals, corporations and foundations)
  • Oversee and develop donor database, and execute donor acknowledgment and stewardship strategies
 
?? Strategic Fundraising Planning
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board to set annual fundraising goals and campaigns, and leverage relationships and funding opportunities
  • Track and analyze fundraising metrics; adjust strategies accordingly
  • Provide fundraising reports and projections to the Executive Director and Board
 
?? Collaboration
  • Self-starter and strong team player
  • Partner with the Marketing & Events Manager on appeals, fundraising campaigns, and events
  • Lead major gift cultivation and capital campaigns as needed
 
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years minimum of nonprofit development experience and fundraising
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field
  • Strong grant writing and donor stewardship skills
  • Familiarity with donor databases and CRM systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong leadership and networking abilities
  • Demonstrated success in securing major gifts and grants
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
 
Preferred:
  • Experience in education-focused nonprofit organizations
  • Familiarity with and involvement in local philanthropic community
  • Experience with capital campaigns
 
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($70,000-$85,000)
