Grant Writer

Position Summary:
The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies’ programs and initiatives. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent writing skills and a passion for nonprofit work.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Research potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations. • Write and submit grant proposals, ensuring they align with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information and data for grant applications and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals and reports.
  • Track and report on the status of submitted grants and follow up as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with grant-making organizations and donors.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial reports for grant applications.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant writing and nonprofit funding.

Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and grant management software such as DonorPerfect.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit funding sources and grant-making processes.
