FAU Community Center for Excellence in Writing (CCEW)

About Us

FAU's Community Center for Excellence in Writing (CCEW) supports and promotes academic and professional writing for those outside of the FAU community.

We offer individualized writing consultations and workshops for businesses that want to improve all forms of their written communications. We do this by offering small workshops (often under 10 attendees) led by two to three instructors. Our goal is to develop university-level writing skills. Studies have shown that accurately written business communications can be used to improve worker productivity and customer communications and sales, or as an employee benefit. Mistakes due to miscommunications can be costly or damage a corporation's reputation.

The CCEW business writing workshops are completely customizable and flexible. To conduct a workshop, we employ two phases: 1) A needs assessment review of written communications with accompanying interviews to determine what areas you want to improve, and; 2) The development of customized workshops (content, hours, and frequency) that meet your goals. The assessment can be separate or packaged with the workshops. Costs are based on assessment time and the length of workshops.

At the conclusion of the workshops, employees will leave with improved communications abilities, stronger understanding of your specific workplace documents, and the ability to write impactful business messages that will improve communications with all business audiences and at all levels in your organization.
