Jones Foster Adds Shareholder Stephen C. Richman to Firm’s Growing Complex Litigation Practice

Jones Foster, a commercial and private client law firm with offices in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter, Florida, is pleased to announce that attorney Stephen C. Richman has joined the firm as a shareholder in its Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group.

“I am excited to start the next chapter of my legal career at Jones Foster,” Mr. Richman said. “With the firm’s strong support and resources, I look forward to further growing my practice, advocating for my clients, and working side-by-side with an accomplished team of attorneys and professionals.”

The addition of Mr. Richman marks the latest expansion of the firm’s Litigation team, which has grown by five attorneys over the past year in response to rising demand for complex litigation counsel in the dynamic South Florida market.

“We are proud that established practitioners like Stephen see Jones Foster as a place where they can continue to build on their career success in a supportive, empowering environment,” said Chairman Scott G. Hawkins. “In today’s legal market, experienced attorneys are seeking firms that offer both high-level work from a sophisticated client base with the flexibility to shape their practice. Stephen’s addition reflects the appeal of our firm’s model, one that offers the resources and infrastructure of a larger firm while maintaining the agility and close-knit, collaborative culture of a smaller firm. I look forward to seeing him thrive as a formidable litigator and a leader.”

Mr. Richman represents businesses and individuals in commercial litigation, class actions, and professional liability matters. He has defended claims in state and federal courts throughout Florida as well as in arbitration.

Mr. Richman has extensive experience defending lawyers and law firms against complex legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty claims, including claims brought by federal equity receivers and putative investor classes arising from SEC and other government enforcement actions. Additionally, he has defended businesses in class action litigation brought under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), as well as Florida’s Telephone Solicitation Act (FTSA) and Consumer Collection Practices Act (FCCPA), and common law claims arising out of an alleged data breach.

Mr. Richman is actively involved in the community, serving on the Board of Governors for the Historical Society of Palm Beach County and on the Finance Committee of the Rosarian Academy. He has been recognized by peer-reviewed industry publications, including Florida Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and Palm Beach Illustrated’s “Top Lawyers” list for Legal Malpractice Law.

While earning his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School, Mr. Richman served as a judicial intern to the Honorable John S. Bryant of U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and the Honorable Sam A. Lindsay of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Jones Foster’s Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group is broad-based and highly experienced, routinely handling cases in federal and state courts throughout Florida and is frequently tapped as local counsel for AmLaw 100 firms nationwide.
