St. Mark’s Episcopal Church & School will host Imam Azhar Subedar, an Islamic scholar and interfaith orator, on Thursday, July 13, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in St. Mark’s community rooms. Imam Subedar will give a short presentation titled “What is Sharia?” before he engages the audience in a conversation about how the world’s great religions can find common ground during this time of such mistrust. Imam Subedar is the first imam to offer prayer at the opening of the Florida Senate. He is sponsored by the Islamic Center of Greater Miami. This interfaith gathering of Christians, Jews, and Muslims is open to the community free of charge.

As a partner of the Community of the Cross of Nails (CCN), St. Mark’s is committed to finding ways toward peace in this broken world and holds a Prayers for Peace gathering every Friday at noon in its Peace Chapel. All are welcome to join this weekly opportunity to pray for peace, justice, and reconciliation. The CCN is a worldwide organization of over 150 partners who pray every Friday at noon and are committed to building a culture of peace. St. Mark’s is located at 3395 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens.
