Peter A. Sachs, Featured Speaker at the Planned Giving Council of Palm Beach County Event
Jones Foster Litigation Shareholder, Peter Sachs, was a featured speaker at the Planned Giving Council of Palm Beach County’s monthly breakfast meeting. The gathering provides a forum for members and guests to learn from prominent speakers in various industries and to network with professionals who have a role in designing and implementing philanthropic plans.
Mr. Sach’s presentation, entitled, Understanding the Diminishing Capacity of Donors and Clients within Philanthropy, discussed the importance of understanding the lack of capacity, undue influence, and duress challenges to charitable gifts or bequests. Lifetime planning precautions and post-death probate court proceedings from both a charitable and a non-charitable beneficiary’s perspective were examined along with relevant case studies and audience participation, which included Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic & Ranch, this month’s event sponsor.
The Council is comprised of a network of business professionals who are dedicated to creating a vibrant philanthropic community for the greater good of all, with the membership consisting of non-profit executives, development directors, estate planning attorneys, tax attorneys, accountants, trust officers, financial advisors, insurance professionals, and philanthropic advisors and consultants.
Jones Foster Corporate & Tax and Private Client Shareholder, Bill Smith, currently serves on The Planned Giving Council’s Board of Directors. Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, a partner of Jones Foster Impact’s 2020 program, is the current Platinum sponsor.
Mr. Sachs represents individuals and institutions in the prosecution and defense of complex trust and estate, guardianship, and commercial litigation matters. Peter is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a Florida Bar Board Certified Civil Trial and Business Litigation specialist and is certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He holds leadership positions in various industry and community organizations and has written and lectured on such topics as will, guardianship, and trust contests, land trust litigation, the parol evidence rule, removal to Federal Court, and pre-judgment remedies. He is consistently recognized as a preeminent attorney in his area of practice by peer-review publications and received The Best Lawyers in America 2020 "Lawyer of the Year" award for Trusts & Estates Litigation in West Palm Beach, an honor conferred upon a single outstanding lawyer for each specialty and location, based upon the highest overall peer-feedback.
