About Us

Nestled on an Atlantic Ocean barrier island, John D. MacArthur Beach State Park is the only state park in Palm Beach County. It is an environmental treasure which has been preserved for present and future generations to experience.
With 1.6 miles of pristine beach, swimming, snorkeling, and much more to discover, the possibilities of exploration and fun is endless!

While here, visit the Nature Center and our Beach Outfitters Gift Shop. Discover the amazing plants and animals in the estuary by standup paddle board or kayak. Go on a hike on our nature trails, or have a picnic at our pavilions.

Make sure to take advantage of the many offerings throughout the year: daily nature walk, recreational skills lessons, MacArthur Under Moonlight concerts, school programs, summer camp, and much more.

Open daily, we offer something for everyone! Whatever you choose to do while at the Park, we know you will enjoy the serenity of the Real Florida.Founded in 1990, Friends of MacArthur Beach State Park is a State of Florida Citizen Support Organization (CSO), and a 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation. Our mission is to generate supplemental resources to preserve, restore, and interpret the natural and cultural assets of the Park for present and future generations.

This is accomplished by funding Environmental Education programs, special events and programs, community outreach , guided tours and communications, special exhibits, interpretive displays, and many more activities which are designed to meet the needs of John D. MacArthur Beach State Park.
