Jones Foster Announces Attorney Promotions, Board Re-Election at Annual Shareholders Meeting

Jones Foster, a commercial and private client law firm with offices in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter, is pleased to announce the promotion of two attorneys and the re-election of a board member at the Annual Shareholders Meeting.

Litigation Shareholder Steven J. Rothman was re-elected to the firm’s Board of Directors for an additional three-year term, while Trust & Estate Litigation Shareholder Zachary M. Rothman was elevated to an officer of the firm. Brett T. Lashley, a member of the firm’s Complex Litigation and Land Use practice groups, was appointed a shareholder of the firm.

Steve Rothman, a Florida Bar Board Certified Civil Trial attorney for more than 25 years, focuses his practice on civil litigation with an emphasis on product liability, wrongful death, personal injury, defamation, real estate, and commercial litigation. He represents individuals, businesses, and governmental bodies in matters that often involve complex technical issues and numerous multimillion-dollar claims. Steve brings decades of trial experience and deep industry knowledge to cases involving pharmaceuticals and nutritional supplements, motor vehicles, medical devices, mold contamination, electrical contact and electrocution, utility-related incidents, nursing home negligence, premises liability, negligent security, equestrian and agricultural matters, psychiatric and psychological injuries, and catastrophic illness and injury claims.

Steve is a past president of the Palm Beach Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges that is considered one of the most prestigious affiliations for trial attorneys. His leadership and trial accomplishments have earned him significant recognition, including being named a Best Lawyers in America 2023 “Lawyer of the Year” for Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants in the West Palm Beach metropolitan area. He is also consistently recognized by Florida Super Lawyers and Palm Beach Illustrated’s “Top Lawyers,” and holds an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell®, its highest distinction for legal ability and ethical standards.

Zack Rothman, a member of the firm’s Trust & Estate Litigation team, represents clients in complex litigation involving estates, trusts, guardianships, and fiduciary disputes. He also advises personal representatives, trustees, court-appointed administrators, beneficiaries, and creditors on all aspects of probate, trust, and guardianship administration.

Zack maintains many leadership roles within local and state bar associations, notably as Chair of the Palm Beach County Bar Association's Probate/Guardianship Practice Committee. He serves on multiple committees of The Florida Bar, including the Probate Rules Committee, Civil Procedure Rules Committee, Committee on Professionalism, Abuse, Neglect & Exploitation Committee, and the Undue Influence Codification Subcommittee. A graduate of the Florida Fellows Institute of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, Zack has also been consistently recognized by Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars, The Best Lawyers in America “Ones to Watch,” and Palm Beach Illustrated’s Top Lawyers.

Brett Lashley, a member of the firm’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Land Use & Governmental teams, focuses his practice on general commercial litigation, with an emphasis on employment, real estate, and municipal law. Mr. Lashley represents individuals and businesses in matters involving trade secrets, enforcement of noncompete agreements, real property disputes, landlord-tenant matters, and commercial contract litigation. He also serves as legal counsel to the Towns of Lake Park, Jupiter, and Palm Beach, advising municipal clients on code enforcement proceedings, planning and zoning matters, and town commission meetings.

Mr. Lashley is an active member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section and serves on the Bar’s Local Government and Land Use Committee. He is a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches’ Leadership West Palm Beach program and has been recognized by leading peer-review publications, including The Best Lawyers in America “Ones to Watch” for Commercial Litigation and Litigation – Real Estate, Florida Super Lawyers' Rising Stars for Civil Litigation (Plaintiff and Defense), and Palm Beach Illustrated’s “Top Lawyers” for Municipal Law and Business Litigation.
