West Palm Beach Police Department Heads to New York to Recruit Experienced Law Enforcement Officers

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (February 2, 2026) – Start spreading the news: the West Palm Beach Police Department is heading to the New York metropolitan area to recruit certified officers to leave the cold behind and come serve in sunny South Florida.
 
As part of its recruitment efforts, the department is sponsoring the Equivalency of Training (EOT) certification for eligible out-of-state and federal law enforcement officers seeking Florida certification and employment with the agency. The EOT program is a one-week course offered at Palm Beach State College and is designed to streamline the transition for qualified officers.
 
Certified officers with prior experience may earn an annual salary ranging from $75,921 to $87,888, with a top-out salary of $117,778. Additional benefits include tuition reimbursement, opportunities for overtime, and detail assignments. Eligible candidates may also qualify for a $5,000 Florida relocation incentive through a statewide recruitment initiative.

Members of the West Palm Beach Police Department recruitment team will be available to meet with interested candidates March 4–6, 2026, at the Hilton Garden Inn – Staten Island, located at 1100 South Avenue, Staten Island, New York.

  • On-site panel interview or interview scheduling during event dates
  • Scheduling for Florida-based hiring steps, including:
    1. Swim Test and Physical Agility Test (PAT)

    4. (These steps can be completed in as little as two days)
