About Barbara Scarlata:
Barbara Scarlata is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia and has her JD from Beasley School of Law at Temple University. She was an attorney in the Philadelphia area for over 30 years with an emphasis in family law. For the 15 years prior to moving to Palm Beach County, she represented the legal interests of children in foster care. After retiring from law and moving to Palm Beach County, she decided that she wanted to work full time giving back to the community. She discovered the world of nonprofits. For the past 7 years she has tirelessly fought for the interests of the children in the community. Her passion for helping children led her to Speak Up for Kids, where she fundraises to provide the resources for the Guardian ad Litem volunteers who advocate for the best interest pf children in foster care.
Barbara is on the Board of Directors of Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Foundation, a graduate of the 2020 class of Leadership Focus, and a graduate of the 2021 class of Leadership PBC. She was nominated for Nonprofits First Hats Off Award in 2019 and nominated for Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Woman of the year in 2017.
Barbara's vision is a world where every abused, abandoned, and neglected child in Palm Beach County has a voice that is heard, and that each of these innocent children has the opportunity to live as normal a life as possible.
