Peeyush Patel, Vice President of Cybersecurity & Chief Information Security Office at NextEra Energy

Peeyush Patel is Vice President of Cybersecurity and Chief Information Security Officer at NextEra Energy, where he leads the company’s enterprise-wide cybersecurity and risk management strategy. He brings more than 20 years of experience as a transformational information security leader, with deep expertise in building and scaling global security organizations within complex, highly regulated environments. 

Most recently, Peeyush served as Global Chief Information Security Officer at XPO Logistics, overseeing information security and risk management across North America and Europe. In this role, he led a complex, globally dispersed organization supporting operations across many countries. He was accountable for strategic investments in security platforms, cloud, and infrastructure to support digital transformation, modernize technology, accelerate speed to market, and improve operational efficiency. 

Previously, Peeyush held senior cybersecurity leadership roles at Uber, McKesson, Experian, and BlackRock. At Uber APAC, he transformed software delivery and digital payments, improving customer experience while strengthening security and marketplace trust. At McKesson, Experian, and BlackRock, he helped advance cybersecurity programs within large-scale, data-intensive, and regulated industries. 

Peeyush holds a master's degree in information systems and technology from the University of Michigan. He is based in South Florida and is committed to advancing NextEra Energy’s cybersecurity resilience while fostering a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, and empowered decision-making across the organization. 


Randi Karpinia, Intellectual Property Attorney and CEO at Sagacity Legal

Randi Karpinia is a leading intellectual property attorney who has consistently differentiated herself and achieved a high-level of success in engineering, business, AI, tech and IP law, all while breaking barriers and even overcoming great personal loss. Drawing on her unique combination of technical and legal knowledge, she is strongly positioned as CEO of Sagacity to help clients navigate legal pathways and protect themselves and their businesses.

Ms. Karpinia’s expertise is well recognized industry-wide. Her firm, Sagacity Legal was named a Best of Florida 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 Intellectual Property Firm. Randi has achieved a Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating. She has also been selected as a 2026 Super Lawyer. She also was honored as a 2021 Small Business Person of the Year Finalist by the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches and included in the WIPF - 2021 Powerful Women in IP list.

Ms. Karpinia’s credentials include a B.E.E, with honors, from Georgia Institute of Technology; a M.E.E. from Florida Atlantic University; and a J.D. Magna Cum Laude from Nova Southeastern University. Ms. Karpinia is admitted to practice law in Florida and before the USPTO, and is a Florida Bar Board Certified Intellectual Property Lawyer.


Ben Miron, Vice President at FPL Information Technology Solutions

Ben Miron is vice president of information technology solutions at Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), a subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc., and the largest investor-owned electric utility in the nation. Mr. Miron is responsible for leading the digital and technology strategy for FPL and developing and implementing innovative energy solutions for FPL customers. This includes overseeing the overall strategy and business plan and monitoring financial performance, regulatory compliance, customer engagement and talent development.

Previously, Mr. Miron served as the vice president of information technology infrastructure and cybersecurity at NextEra Energy. Prior to joining the company, he worked for General Electric where he held roles with increasing responsibility including Deputy CISO of GE Capital and CISO of GE Corporate. While at GE Capital, he was responsible for leading the cyber threat intelligence, incident detection and response, and insider threat functions. He was also responsible for the cybersecurity work stream with over 40 divestitures occurring across the GE Capital business. Additionally, he was a manager at Ernst & Young in their Technology, Security and Risk Services practice where he led a team of security professionals to deliver advanced security assessments, compliance programs and strategic program management.

Mr. Miron is a member of the CISO Board of Advisors for SYN Ventures and ClearSky Security venture funds and is involved in numerous industry and sector initiatives to help improve energy and smart-grid cybersecurity.
