For current nonprofit leaders, board members, and professionals considering board service, in partnership with the Young Professionals of the Palm Beaches.

Program Focus

• Serve with Purpose: Finding the right board opportunity, understanding responsibilities, and setting expectations for time, giving, and fundraising.
• Lead with Impact: Recruiting and onboarding members, clarifying board and staff roles, and strengthening engagement through effective meetings, board retreats, and ongoing education.
• Strengthen Your Community: Applying professional skills and relationships to advance a mission, developing future leaders, and turning board service into meaningful action.

The session will bring these topics to life through practical examples, audience discussion, and takeaways for both aspiring board members and nonprofit leaders.

Featured Presenter: Rita M. Barreto

Rita M. Barreto is President of Top Tier Leadership and a nationally recognized leadership consultant, speaker and facilitator with extensive experience helping organizations and leaders achieve greater impact. A longtime business and community leader, Rita has served in numerous nonprofit leadership and board roles on local, state and national levels. Known for her engaging, practical approach, she brings real-world insight and a healthy dose of humor to what it takes to build and serve on an effective board.
