What makes a nonprofit partnership valuable to a company — beyond the opportunity to give back?

Hear from corporate leaders who oversee social responsibility and community partnerships about how they identify opportunities that align with both community needs and business priorities. The conversation will explore what companies are looking for in nonprofit and education partners, the value these relationships can bring to both sides, and how organizations can think beyond traditional sponsorships and charitable giving to build stronger, more strategic partnerships.

Attendees will gain a better understanding of how to position their organization, identify opportunities for mutual value and become the kind of partner companies want to invest in.

Brandon Cabrera, The BrandX Company

Brandon Cabrera is the Owner and CEO of The BrandX Company, a private real estate development firm with projects from single family homes to multifamily rental apartment complexes. He holds a Contractors license, and a Real Estate license, along with owning a diverse portfolio of properties in Palm Beach County. His company focuses on quality affordable homes and rental apartments for the everyday working-class family. Mr. Cabrera was raised in Greenacres, and invested in his first property at the age of 18. He is continually seeking to improve Palm Beach County with quality housing that anyone can afford, and he also gives back by serving on a variety of boards and committees in the community.

Maura Daves, Related Ross

Maura Daves is Vice President of Corporate Communications at Related Ross, where she leads the strategic communications function across the company's corporate marketing, brand, digital, events, and stakeholder engagement efforts. Day-to-day, Maura oversees external media relations, public relations, community engagement strategy, and internal communications, working closely with marketing teams across Related Ross's residential, affordable, office, and retail platforms, as well as the Related Ross Foundation and customer experience platforms. She also spearheads the company's thought leadership platform, developing signature programs such as WSJ Invest Live, the Defense Tech Leadership Summit, cultural events, and Women's Leadership events.

Kim Kerry, Gunster

As Gunster’s Director of Marketing, Kim Kerry develops firmwide strategies that strengthen the firm’s brand, community relationships, and civic engagement throughout Florida. She helps guide Gunster’s longstanding commitment to philanthropy with intention, aligning memberships, sponsorships, and nonprofit partnerships with broader business and community objectives. brings a valuable corporate perspective on moving nonprofit engagement from charitable giving to strategic, sustainable partnership.
