QUANTUM FOUNDATION OPENS QUANTUM IN THE COMMUNITY APPLICATIONS, CELEBRATING 16 YEARS

$1.25 million in funding available as Quantum Foundation marks 30 years of improving community health

(WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.) – Quantum Foundation is once again calling on local grassroots nonprofits to apply for funding through its annual Quantum in the Community (QIC) program, now in its 16th year of supporting organizations that meet the most essential needs across Palm Beach County.

Applications for the 2026 cycle will open June 1, 2026, and close August 2, 2026, with $1.25 million in grant funding available to eligible nonprofits with annual budgets at or under $500,000.

Through QIC, Quantum Foundation provides critical funding to organizations addressing basic needs such as food, shelter, transportation, clothing and financial assistance—factors that play a vital role in overall health and well-being. Additional support may include access to healthcare, medical equipment, hygiene supplies, furniture and other essential services that help stabilize individuals and families throughout the county.

Quantum Foundation’s mission is to inspire and fund initiatives that improve the health of Palm Beach County residents. The health foundation was formed from $125 million in proceeds from the sale of JFK Medical Center. Now in its third decade of community investment, the foundation has assets of approximately $172 million. Since its inception, Quantum Foundation has awarded $184 million to hundreds of Palm Beach County nonprofit grantees. Every dollar the foundation grants stays in the county to benefit local communities.

In 2025, Quantum Foundation awarded $1.25 million in unrestricted funding to 140 local grassroots organizations across Palm Beach County. To date, QIC has invested millions in local nonprofits working on the front lines of community health.

“Quantum in the Community continues to be one of the most meaningful ways we invest directly in the well-being of Palm Beach County residents,” said Eric Kelly, president of Quantum Foundation. “As we celebrate 16 years of QIC and 30 years as a foundation, we remain deeply committed to supporting the organizations that are closest to the community and making a real, lasting impact every day.”

Quantum Foundation announced a 10-year, $12.5 million commitment to the Quantum in the Community program in 2025, further solidifying its investment in grassroots solutions in Palm Beach County.

Eligible applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) organizations that have been operating in Palm Beach County for at least six months and have an annual operating budget of $500,000 or less. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of foundation staff and board members.

In addition, Quantum Foundation will continue accepting nominations for the Marie Thorpe Above & Beyond Award, which recognizes an individual who exemplifies extraordinary service and dedication to the community. The honoree will receive a $2,500 award, with an additional $2,500 granted to their nominating organization.

Grant recipients will be announced in the third week of October and will be recognized at the annual Quantum in the Community Awards Breakfast on November 17, 2026, at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.
